In 2022, the Friends of Lyonia Preserve linked up with Old Florida Vibes to create a logo for the Friends group. This logo is intended to communicate a number of things – the magic of a Florida Scrub-Jay landing on your head, the sense of adventure of embarking on a journey through the Rusty Lyonia that gives the Preserve its name, and a vintage feel reminding you that you are truly venturing through Old Florida.

For the 2023 LEC Wildlife Festival, the Friends of Lyonia Preserve partnered with local artist Anna Coleman for this image. From the tall pine tree that leads you to the small wetland, the Ocala Lupine and Garberia in bloom, and of course some of the resident animal life including scrub-jays, a towhee, and a gopher tortoise – this is truly the best of Lyonia!

Nathan Leemis is a very talented painter and a long-time friend of Lyonia who has done a number of pieces based on Lyonia references, including this scrub-jay portrait.

A commissioned piece featuring a Florida Scrub-Jay from Lyonia by Jordan Silvia. Shown off by West Volusia Audubon Vice President and Lyonia Lead Docent Stephen Kintner.

Chelsea LeNoble was kind enough to gift us with thank-you cards with this linocut of a Florida scrub-jay. On this card she added dried corn flowers to make it even more beautiful.
